Our New House

Wow! It's been a long time since I've added to this blog... I'm going to rekindle this fire and start blogging about our new house! Jason and I are engaged, and we are going to move into this new house together. It is a 600 square feet bungalow, and needs quite a bit of work. We plan to redo almost everything in this house, and then move in...hopefully a couple months from now.

Here is the virtual tour of the house.

Exterior: It's very cute, has big picture windows and just needs some new paint on the trim. The stucco is a mish mash of pink, white and black stones. Vote: Would you keep the awnings (the shades over the front windows), or get rid of them?

Front Foyer: The door is solid wood, and just needs a new coat of stain and varnish. There is enough room for a small bench and a rack of coat hooks! I think I will paint this little foyer area with a super bright colour - for instant drama!

Living Room: Measures 14'x10'. All the floors, except the kitchen and bathroom, are covered in oak hardwood. It is very nice solid wood, just needs to be refinished. Initial quotes are $3.5-$4.8 per square foot to sand, stain and varnish. We really like the decorative trim in this house. Jason's mom says the original owners were quite handy!

Kitchen: Measures 9'x11' The kitchen is connected to a mudroom area that leads to the backyard. The cabinets and laminate are not worth saving. We are going to use Jason's parents' old cabinets and update them with a nice granite top. The white appliances will match our white counters. We plan to do our own tiling on the kitchen floor. We will relocate the sink so that it is in front of the window, and move the stove and fridge along the other side of the wall. Check out this 3D animation I did on RONA's website!

Bathroom: Measures 5'x7'. The pastel colours say it all...this bathroom needs to GO! The toilet is newer and we can keep that.

Master Bedroom: Measures 10'x10' - just big enough for a queen size bed!

Office/guestroom: Wow, needs a new paint colour. Measures 10'x 7'
